Sandy Springs is one of the most convenient areas in Atlanta with GA-400, I-285, I-75, and many other major roads running through the city. The prime location makes it easy for residents at Sandy Springs apartments, Glen Lake to get out and attend the many events that take place in the area each month.
This month is no exception as there are several fun upcoming events taking place in or around Sandy Springs at the end of May and through the month of June. Here is a list of some of the events and information for each one:
May 29, 2010: Atlanta Jazz Festival- The Atlanta Jazz Festival returns to Piedmont Park on Memorial Day weekend. The two day event (May 29th and 30th) is one of the Country’s largest FREE jazz festivals. The festival is easily accessible from Sandy Springs by hopping on GA-400 South or by taking Marta.
June 12, 2010: The Beer Connoisseur Festival- The Prado Shopping Center was recently re-developed and is becoming one of the most popular areas of Sandy Springs to dine and drink with great restaurants such as Genki, Fuego Mundo, Joli Kobe, Taco Mac, and 5 Seasons all open for business. On Saturday, June 12th from 3-8pm, The Prado will host the Beer Connoisseur Festival with over 150-plus brews available for tasting. Tickets are $35 in advance.
June 19, 2010: Run4Dad- For those looking for a more healthy alternative, the Run-4-Dad 5K/ 1 mile walk is taking place on June 19th in Sandy Springs. The event begins and ends in the Costco/Home Depot parking lot on the corner of Peachtree Dunwoody & Mt. Vernon Rd. Registrtion begins at 7AM and the race starts at 8AM. All proceeds benefit prostate cancer research and local prostate cancer support groups of the Men’s Health & Wellness Center.
For residents at Glen Lake Apartments wanting to just relax at the luxury community, Glen Lake will be having a “Start of Summer Pool Party” on June 12, 2010 from 1-4P p.m. Delicious food and beverages will be available by the pool.
