Summer Food Drive with Sandy Springs/ Perimeter Chamber of Commerce

The Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Summer Food Drive to benefit the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody Community Action Center (CAC). Food donations may be dropped off at any of the branches of Bank of North Georgia in Sandy Springs, Cornerstone Bank and RBC Bank/Prado from Monday, June 28 through Friday, July 9. All items need to be in unbreakable containers.

The Community Action Center provides food to an average of 60 Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area families and individuals per day. The number of individuals and families seeking food from the CAC has doubled in recent years. CAC reports that their food needs are greatest during the summer when children are out of school and not receiving school subsidized lunch and breakfast.

Immediate CAC food pantry needs include canned milk, canned tomatoes, cereal, sugar, flour, crackers, potatoes dry/canned, mixed vegetables, canned meats (chicken, turn, spam, Vienna sausage, etc.), pasta meals (ravioli, macaroni and cheese, beef stew, etc.), dishwashing detergent, bathing soap, condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise), salad dressings, and juices.
