New Recreation Area Opening in Sandy Springs

Residents of Sandy Springs are invited to attend the Grand Opening of the city’s first riverside park, Morgan Falls Overlook Park, on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 4-7PM. Located just a few miles from Glen Lake Apartments in Sandy Springs, the new park features a playground, boat dock, pavilion area, and dog park.

Morgan Falls Overlook Park is located behind Steel Canyon Golf Course at the end of Morgan Falls Road just off Roswell Rd. The addition of the park increases the variety of recreational opportunities available in the Sandy Springs/ Dunwoody area. Some additional parks in the area include the Dunwoody Park and Nature Center, Hammond Park, Heritage Green Park, and Chastain Park in Buckhead.

Of course, Glen Lake includes great outdoor amenities as well. Residents have full use of the community pool, tennis courts, nature trails, picnic areas, grill, pavilions, outdoor fireplaces, and a state-of-the-art fitness center, as well as a fenced dog park.

The community’s Sandy Spring location puts residents and their pets minutes from summer activities at the Dunwoody Nature Center, Chattahoochee River, Dunwoody Green Market, and multiple concert and open air dining venues. While pets sleep all day, their owners are a close commute to multiple corporate hubs, including UPS, Newell Rubbermaid, Global Payments and Cox Communications.
