Explore Nature at Glen Lake

By on Oct 07

butterfly_yellow-flowers_01Glen Lake: A Residential Resort in Sandy Springs has many options for residents  wanting to get outside this fall and enjoy nature. Tucked away in a wooded community just minutes from Perimeter Mall, Glen Lake is able to offer residents something that  most communities in the area cannot….green space, nature trails, beautiful flowers and gorgeous trees throughout the community.

Residents wanting to explore the area can enjoy a  five mile nature trail located just outside the property gates by the UPS corporate office. The five mile trail is perfect for walking, running, or just taking in the sights. The Dunwoody Nature Center is also located nearby featuring streamside trails, gardens, and a wetland boardwalk. Visitors at the Dunwoody Nature Center are likely to see many of the 40 plus animals identified at the park over the past few years including the Barred Owl, Red Tailed Hawk, Coopers Hawk, and even some cute bunny rabbits hopping around.

There are also many other green space areas and parks in Sandy Springs including Morgan Falls Park, Heritage Sandy Springs, and Abernathy Park, which is coming soon. The Sandy Springs Conservancy works hard to create new parks and ensure that existing natural areas, parks, and trails in the city are well maintained and attractive. The devotion to natural beauty is one of the many features that makes Sandy Springs such a fantastic neighborhood to live.
