Dunwoody Chamber Hosts Another Earth Day Event
Posted by: | Comments
Rain and lightning forced the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce to close during their Earth Day event last month so they have re-scheduled another recycling event on May 22, 2010 from 1 – 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce located at 5518 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd.
This is a great opportunity for Dunwoody residents to help reduce the amount of trash that goes into the landfill by shredding documents, recycling electronics, and donating old cell phones. According to the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce, it is estimated that 600,000 lbs of waste could be diverted from the landfill each year if just 1,000 Dunwoody residents actively composted their waste.
The recycling event will be taking place right after the huge yard sale at Glen Lake Apartments in Dunwoody on May 22nd. The community yard sale is from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. so residents of the pet-friendly community could essentially sell many of their household items at the yard sale and then recycle a good portion of the electronics and other items at the Chamber event.
